Obituary of William H. "Bill" Stokes, III

 BETHUNE -A celebration of life service for William Himbrick “Bill” Stokes, III, 82, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oliver Gospel Mission.

    Mr. Stokes passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late William Himbrick Stokes, II and Mabel Horton Stokes. Mr. Stokes was a member of Lynchwood Masonic Lodge #197 and retired from DuPont. He enjoyed farming, raising chickens, bee keeping, gardening, raising cattle, goats, pigs and even a lama. He also enjoyed traveling and had visited several different places including Alaska, Cuba, Scotland and England.

    Surviving are his wife, Kathy Taylor Stokes; daughters, Elizabeth Korn (Lee), Kimberly Holloman; grandchildren, Anna Catoe (Matthew), Ryan Korn, Malcolm Holloman, Deasmond Holloman, Nicholas Holloman, Justice Holloman; siblings, Audrey Dixon, Starling Stokes; 4  step-children; 7 step-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, William H. “Brick” Stokes IV.
