CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of William D. “Jim” Gardner, 82, will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Ernest Rabon will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Gardner passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late Roy and Agnes Sanders Gardner. Mr. Gardner was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator since 1950 of Gardner’s Body Shop and enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt track racing, and watching NASCAR. Surviving are his wife, Alice Truesdale Gardner; sons, Troy William Gardner (Dava) of Camden, Trynn Phillip Gardner of Camden; grandchildren, Kristie Seals (Paul), Heather, Brittany, Philip, Erik, and William Gardner; great-grandchildren, Abigail Gardner, Isabella Brown, Paul Seals III, Katherine Seals, and Rhett Seals. He was predeceased by brothers, Lewis Gardner and Ruby Tollison.
