Obituary of Mary Deese Dixon

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Mary Deese Dixon, 91, will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Camden First Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow in Forest lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministry Fund.

Mrs. Dixon, wife of the late William “Bill” Dixon, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Karesh at Beechwood.  Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Augustus “Gus” Deese and Maggie Broome Deese.  She was a nurse for over 40 years having worked for Kershaw County Memorial Hospital and Karesh Long Term Nursing Care.  She was a faithful member of Camden Nazarene Church.  Mrs. Dixon enjoyed reading her bible and devotions, crocheting and baking.  She was known for her homemade bread.

Left to cherish her memories, are her daughter-in-law, Sylvia Noll; grandchildren, Scotty Dixon (Kimberly), Chris Dixon (Courtney) and Nathan Knoll (Brittany); and great-grandchildren, McKinley Dixon, Tyler Dixon, Richard Dixon, Kayla Dixon, Hunter Noll, Mark Noll and Rachel Noll.  She was predeceased her son, Richard M. Dixon; and siblings, Saddie, Maddie, Lela, Julia and Roy.
