Obituary of Michael Dale McManus

ELGIN- A funeral service for Michael Dale McManus, 74, will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with Burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Robin Hewitt will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Hill Baptist Church, 268 Cato Heights Road, Pageland, S.C. 29728.

    Mr. McManus passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Born in Monroe, N.C., he was a son of the late Bobby Dupree and Bonnie Sue McManus. Mr. McManus served in the U.S. Army and was a combat medic during the Vietnam War. After serving, he worked as a registered nurse. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, watching football and was an avid Gamecock fan.

    Surviving are his wife, Lisa Sullivan McManus; parents-in-law; Thomas and Myrtle Sullivan; brother-in-law, Tony Sullivan (Susan); sister-in-law, Courtney Sullivan; nieces, Hope Foster (Robbie), Ashton Keaton, Breanna Price (Blake), Creighan Sullivan, Laykin Sullivan, Chadley Grace Sullivan, Grayson Jordan; nephew, Caleb Martin; and great-nephews, Ryan McManus and Brent Foster. He was predeceased by a son Larry Michael McManus, a brother, Terry McManus; nephew, Casey McManus; and a brother-in-law, Chad Sullivan.
