Obituary of Larry Washington Brown, Jr.

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Larry Washington Brown, Jr., 74, will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Mr. Brown passed away at home on Thursday, November 23, 2023.  Born in Moncks Corner, he was the son of the late Larry Washington Brown, Sr. and Janie Davis Brown.  He was a Combat Veteran having served in The United States Navy in the Vietnam War.  He retired from DuPont and enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Penny Irene Painter Brown; son, Robert Brown; daughter, Stacey Hapner (Raymond); and brother, Roger Brown.  He was predeceased by a sister, Gayle Collins Springette.
