Obituary of LeRoy P Harris

LeRoy P. Harris was born December 25, 1938 in Blaney, SC to the late Gilmore and Elizabeth Harris. He passed away quietly surrounded by friends and family on November 17, 2023. He worked as a machinist over the years in New York, California, and Connecticut, where he retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in New Haven, CT and eventually moved back to South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Leroy was predeceased by his brothers, Turman, George, Herman, and William Richard Harris; sisters, Sandra Easterling, Myrtle Anderson, and Johnnie Mae Wint.

He leaves behind a brother, Floyd Harris; sisters, Eddie Mae Phipps (Albert) and Anne Tate; his good friends, Ed Kopodski, Steve Kolther, and Robert Tucker, all of New Haven, CT; Jim Nge of New York City; Shirley Bolden of North Carolina; his favorite uncle, Eli Harris of California; as well as many nieces and nephews.  

A Homegoing Celebration for LeRoy P. Harris will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
