Obituary of Fannie Bernice Adcock McPherson
Fannie Bernice Adcock McPherson passed away on November 17, 2023 in, South Carolina at 101 years of age.
She was born on May 21, 1922 in Jefferson, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Henry Malachi Adcock and Fannie Mae Braddock. She was proceeded in death by her husband William A. McPherson (Poppy), her brothers and sisters, Lois Victoria Adcock, John Henry (Buck) Adcock, William (Billie) Olin Adcock, Jessie Ruth Adcock, Joseph (Joe) Daniel Adcock, Lula Grace Adcock Kirkley, Albert Ray Adcock, James Paul Adcock, Carolyn Elizabeth Adcock, Harold M. Adcock, Russell E. Adcock and her granddaughter Monica Faye McPherson Nailling.
She is survived by her two sons, William Aaron Jr. (Buddy) McPherson (Karen), Jerry Lynn McPherson (Pam), her grandchildren, Shannon McPherson, (Ann), Brent McPherson, (Kelly) and Heather McPherson, great-grandchildren, Cody Nailling, Aaron Nailling and Katlyn Nailling, Lakann McPherson, Patrick and Maddie Carr, Shadoe (Ashley) and Ryder Barbour and her sisters Edith Adcock Kirkley and Bobbie Jean Adcock Mintz
Bernice was a graduate of Jefferson High School where she excelled as a basketball player. She worked at Siconie Manufacturing making dresses in Bethune, SC, she then worked at the Kendal Mill in Bethune, SC as an Accountant/Bookkeeper/Payroll manager. Her family then moved to Columbia, SC where she worked at Sumbeam Bakery before going to work at Allied Chemical as a quality technician. After retiring from Allied, she then went back to work in the food court at K-Mart in Lexington, SC. She later moved back to Bethune, SC.
Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will live on in the hearts of her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends and family at 10:00 am on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC, followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 am. The burial will be held at Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery located at 1357 South Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29073. Pallbearers will be Brent McPherson, Aaron Nailling, Earl Horton, Kelly Clark, John Adcock and Tony Adcock. Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Mintz and Cody Nailling.
