Obituary of James Michael Donevant

James Michael Donevant, 67, of Bethune, passed on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Born in Conway, SC on December 13, 1955, he was the son of the late William Edward Donevant, Sr. and Mary Francis (Crosby) Donevant. Michael served in the US Navy as a Petty Officer 1^st Class on the USS Dace and retired from Santee Cooper after 32 years of service.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sara; three amazing children, Jonathan (Drew), Jennifer (Rob), and Jacelyn (Corbin); four precious grandchildren, Oliver, Belle, Kennedy, and Daniel, with two more grandchildren arriving in the Spring; a brother, Steve Donevant (Becky); and a sister-in-law, Jacklyn Donevant.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, William Edward Donevant, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Florence National Cemetery, 1001 Stockade Drive, Florence SC 29506. A Celebration of Life at the National Cemetery will follow the graveside service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
