This posting is to share a small slice of Dales early 20's life that included me. We were inseparable. I was an only child and Dale treated me like a brother. Even after I went to Clemson and met the love of my life, Lynn, we moved back to Lugoff where she taught school and Dale was part of our family. I know that his children and grand children will someday be interested in Dales early life. They need to know what a great person he was. He loved all and would help anyone in need. He always had a great smile and would be the first to roll up his sleeves to help. I don't know if he ever had an enemy. He loved life, and we tried our best to live it despite our lack of funds.
Dale and I grew up in the same small Mayfield Acres neighborhood, just a couple of blocks apart. His Mom always had an apron on and was a wonderful lady. His Dad was great and always acted like a Dad should for the times. As teenagers, we loved life and tried to live it fully. We tinkered with muscle cars, made lots of friends, partied and loved life. When I married, Miss Lynn in1971, we lived for a short time in the Mayfield Acres house and then bought a lot on the Wateree Lake and put a double wide on it. Some of the photos showed our parties and Dale helping to dig a hole for a TV tower new to the house. I have included a few photos that I want to share of memories from our early adulthood life. Dale used to hang out with me at the Lugoff Drop Zone where I used to do a lot of skydiving. I started a small carpet cleaning company, and Dale worked for me one winter cleaning carpets in Hotels in Myrtle Beach. We cleaned and partied along with a couple of other friends I hired.
