Ethel Lene Gaskins Obituary

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Ethel Lene Gaskins, 95, will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Camden First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Mt. Elon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jefferson. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.




Mrs. Gaskins, wife of the late Bennie Gaskins, Jr., passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. Born in McBee, she was the daughter of the late James King and Gertrude Pate King. She retired from Hardee’s Restaurant and was a faithful member of Edward’s Chapel AME Zion Church where she served in the Missionary Society, Deaconess Board, and sang in the choir. Mrs. Gaskins enjoyed bingo, cooking, gardening, singing and traveling with family.




Surviving are her daughter, Henrietta Lee (Edward) of Camden; son, Bennie Gaskin II of Camden; brother, Clyde King Sr. of Lexington, N.C.; sister, Clara King of Union, N.J.; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter, Diane G. Morris.
