Obituary of Charles Everett Lang

    A celebration of life service for Charles Everett Lang, 48, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Direction Church of God. The Rev. Hector Vazquez will officiate.     Charles passed away on September 14, 2023. Born in St. Louis, MO, he was a son of Robert and Hattie Simmons. Charles spent most of his life living in New York. Charles enjoyed sports, watching football, basketball, and shooting. His favorite teams were the New England Patriots and the Golden State Warriors. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking out, listening to music, going to the movies, and just surrounding himself around his loved ones being his authentic self.

    Charles was a brilliant person, he was an owner-operator of multiple businesses throughout the years being the self-starter that he was.

     Survived by his wife, Melissa Diaz; children, Alisha Lang Walker, Egypt Lang, Charles Lang, Jr., Bryan Peralta, Leslie Peralta; siblings, Mary Fields, Yvette Lang, Henrietta Thompson (Anthony Quinones), Geneva Simmons Bush, Dawatha Simmons, Jeremy Lang and Robert Simmons, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.

    Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Reeves, Mary Helen Windham Reeves, Lily Reeves, Yvette (Sue) Simmons, and J.W. Simmons.
