Ridgeway- Gail Fry Nelson, 68, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023. Born in Lodi, OH, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Jesse Fry and Wilma Jeannett Fry. Gail formerly owned and operated It’s a Small World Daycare and Wateree Dam Sport Shop. She enjoyed arts and crafts and gardening.

Surviving are her children, Jesse Scot Tenley (Megan) of Ridgeway, Kristina Stone (Timothy) of Columbia; companion of 23 years, Ron Smotherman; siblings, Marsha Betson (Bill) of Wooster, OH, Darrell Fry (Melanie) of Buchanan, TN, Jeffrey Fry (Michelle) of Bellville, OH, Michael Fry (Carolyn) of Rochester, OH, Rebecca Morris (Gary) of Shreve, OH, Michele Copley of Wooster, OH; grandchildren, Dallas Tenley, Bridgett Wilson, J.T. Tenley, Hank Tenley, Dalton Taylor; 2 great-grandchildren; and too many bonus children to list.

A memorial service for Gail Nelson will be held Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at the Lake Wateree VFW. The family is in charge of the arrangements.
