Obituary of Patsy H. Desrochers Neal

Patsy H. Desrochers Neal, 83, of Rock Hill, and formerly of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Born in Orangeburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late David and Beulah Chavis Hutchins and the wife of the late Eugene Norman Desrochers and the late John Neal. Patsy was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, SC. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and cross-stitching. She loved animals, especially the many pets she had over the years. She also liked to take walks around Rock Hill and to do crossword puzzles. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, affectionately known as “Mama Pat,” sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Patsy is survived by her son, Scott Bradley Desrochers (Barbara); her sister, Lorraine Crapps; grandchildren, Brad Desrochers (Natasha), Justin Desrochers (Amelia), Kevin Desrochers, Renee Tater (Justin), and Steven Desrochers, Jr.; as well as eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her son, Randall Steven “Randy” Desrochers; and siblings, David Hutchins, Harold Hutchins, and Gene “Frank” Hutchins.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. A brief committal will follow the service in Quaker Cemetery, Camden.
