LUGOFF – Funeral service for Johnny Eugene Mattox, 69, will be held on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Flowers will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Mattox passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Bessie Peake Mattox. He retired as a carpenter and enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and cooking. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Janice Mattox; children, Teresa Branham, Johnny Mattox Jr. (Lesley), Rhonda Ritch (Waylon), Vickie Hailey (Greg) and Natlie Grace Mattox of the home; sister, Betty Ann Stockman (Wylie); 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
