Obituary of Nicholas Bethea
Nicholas was born on June 10, 1982, at Dewitt Army Hospital, Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Paul and Shirley Bethea. Nicholas departed this life on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the Centennial Hills Hospital, Las Vegas, NV. Nicholas (Nick) attended public schools in Virginia, Georgia, and South Carolina. He was a 2000 graduate of Fairfield Central High School. After high school, Nick joined the U.S. Army as a Wheeled
Vehicle Mechanic (91B). His assignments included Hawaii, Germany, and Fort Liberty (Bragg) NC. Nick was a decorated soldier where he earned several medals and awards, including Army Commendation medals (2), Army Achievement medals (6), Army Good Conduct medals (3), National Defense Service medal (4) , Global War on Terrorism Service medal, Non Commissioned NCO Professional Development
Ribbon, and Army Service Ribbon. Nick deployed in support of two combat tours in Iraq. Nick was honorably discharged in 2015. Nick went on to graduate from University of Phoenix in 2023 with a Master of Science in Cybersecurity with honors.
Separate from Nick’s professional achievements, he had a deep passion for technology, video games, wrestling and sports. Nothing was more important to Nick than the time he spent with his wife, children and family.
Nick is survived by his wife, Rhonda Bethea, of Las Vegas, NV., his three children, son, Amare Bethea of Vicenza, Italy, two daughters, Genesis Bethea and Eden Bethea of Las Vegas, NV. His parents, Paul and Shirley Bethea of Columbia, SC. Two brothers, Paul (Latoya) Bethea of Elgin, SC and Kristopher K. Bethea of Atlanta, GA. Three aunts Bernice Moultrie and Anise Smith of Camden, SC, Annie V. Bethea of Laurinburg, NC, one uncle, Andrew Richardson of Peekskill, NY and a host of cousins and friends.
