Obituary of LaVerne Reginald Jeffers, Jr.

ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of LaVerne Reginald Jeffers, Jr., 60, will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Epworth Childrens Home.

Mr. Jeffers passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.  Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of LaVerne Reginald Jeffers, Sr. and the late Jannie Esther O’Sullivan Jeffers.  He retired from Jeffers and Son’s where he was a superintendent.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, riding motorcycles, gardening and cooking.

Surviving are his companion, Nicole Sloan; daughters, Cassy Jeffers and Kelsey Murphy (Ray); father, LaVerne “Buddy” Jeffers; sister, Renee Jeffers Wooten; grandchildren, Raelynn Murphy, Eli Austin Worthy, and Tyanna Angel Tucker;and his dog, Bully. He was predeceased by daughter, Mandy Jeffers; mother, Esther Jeffers; and sister, Pam Grigsby.
