CAMDEN – A memorial service for James Richard Davis Sr., 72, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Ernest Rabon will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to KershawHealth Hospice. Mr. Davis died Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Born in Sumter, he was a son the late James Thompson and Floride Anderson Davis. He retired from the City of Camden where he was a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. Surviving are his son, James Richard Davis, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Camden; daughter, Cynthia Jean Davis (Mark) of Camden; brother, Asa Davis (Brenda); grandchildren, James R. Davis III (Natalie), Patrick Shane Deese (Brooke), Mark Anthony Tarlton, and Harley Russell Tarlton; his former wife, Jean Brown; and nephews, Tony Davis and Lee Davis. He was predeceased by a sister, Baby Girl Davis.
