Obituary of Ernest Napoleon Neal

Ernest Napoleon Neal, 71, of Camden, passed away at MUSC-Florence on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Born in Lugoff, SC, he was the son of the late Lawrence Goodwin and Maggie Ruth Neal Coleman. Ernest attended the public schools of Queens, NY, graduating from Franklin K. Lane High School. He worked as a Security Guard for the School of Performing Arts in Manhattan, NY. Ernest was the life of the party, always smiling and joking with everyone he met. He enjoyed music and dancing and was a very sharp and stylish dresser. Affectionately known as “Bucket-Man” around Camden, Ernest enjoyed gathering and selling pecans to his friends and neighbors. He was a genuine and good-hearted person who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his mother, Ernest is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Michelle Solone of Columbia, SC and Reeshemah Naeem Kinsey of Brooklyn, NY; his grandchildren, Malcolm Xavier Parker and Sable Nadine Parker, both of Vancouver, WA, and Kali Madison Kinsey of Brooklyn, NY; and his siblings, Charles James Neal (Gloria) of Atlanta, GA, Melvin Neal of Camden, SC; Teresa Johnson (Isaiah) of Columbia, SC; and Bernard Christopher Neal (Brenda) of Lugoff, SC; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other special friends and loved ones.

Ernest was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome Goodwin.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
