Obituary of Alva James Bray, Jr.

CAMDEN – Graveside service for Alva James Bray, Jr., 88, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Malvern Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.

Mr. Bray, husband of the late Margaret M. Bray, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.  Born in Vicksburg, Miss., he was the son of the late Alva James Bray, Sr. and Regina Fay Hoover.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Kendall Corporation.  He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his sons, Alva James Bray III (Pamela) of Williamston, S.C. and Timothy Bray (Kimberly) of Lugoff; sisters, Betty Glass of Salisbury, Md. and Norma Bray of Camden; and grandchildren, Andrew Bray, Emily Bray, Daulton Bray, Zachary Bray and Landon Bray.  He was predeceased by sisters, Alma Bray, Etta Ruth Buchanan and Christine Rasberry.
