Obituary of Patti Lynn Strickland

ELGIN - A funeral service for Patti Lynn Strickland, 68, will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hardshell cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: SCOA Cares Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Dr., Columbia, SC 29210.

    Patti passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, with her family by her side. Born in Winnsboro, she was a daughter of the late Wylie Humphries and Shirley “Claudine” Beasley Humphries. At the age of 15, she married the love of her life, Carl “Gene” Strickland, and they spent 52 wonderful years together. Patti loved flowers and collected windchimes and Betty Boop memorabilia. She was a caring person who will be deeply missed by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

    Surviving is her husband, Carl Strickland; daughters, Kim Brown (Tom), Ashley Smith (Zach), and Kayla Bullock; grandchildren, Tommy Brown (Angie), Alex Brown, Faith Brown, Savannah Smith, and Zachary Smith, Jr.; great grandchildren, Maisie and Skylar Brown; her siblings who she was very close to, Karen Wilson, Helen Walters (Jimmy), Tommy Humphries (Janice), Carol Anderson (Donnie), and Brian Humphries (Esther); numerous nieces and nephews.
