Obituary of Melissa Jean Wallace
ELGIN- Melissa “Missy” Wallace of Elgin, South Carolina passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 21, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving husband, mother, daughter and aunt.
Missy was born October 9th, 1967, in Mesquite, Texas. She was raised in Myrtle Beach and graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 1985. She attended Coastal Carolina University and the University of South Carolina. She obtained an Associates of Arts degree from Central Carolina Technical College in 2018. Missy believed that education was the key to success.
She was employed by MUSC Kershaw Hospital as a pharmacy technician. Missy was a Christian woman who loved the Lord. She was an active member of Harvest Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with the youth group.
Missy was a dedicated “Band Mom” to her children. She never missed a trip and enjoyed chaperoning. She also liked helping with the concession stands.
Missy loved spending time with her husband, children, extended family, her four cats and her dog. She was a music lover and enjoyed going to concerts. She was also a huge fan of Star Wars.
Everyone who knew her, loved her. To know Missy was to love Missy.
Missy is survived by husband, Michael " Mike" Wallace; children, Danielle Walker, Andrew Walker (Destiny King) and Johnathan Tindle; her sister, Tracy Wagner (Daniel Wagner); and her mother, Jeanne Zissett and step-father, William Zissett. Missy was predeceased by her father, William "Billy" Jackson.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 27th at 11:00 am and visitation will be at 10:00 am. The services will be held at Missy’s home church, Harvest Baptist church, 281 Wildwood Ln, Lugoff, South Carolina 29078.
