Obituary of Henry Earl Harrelson

CAMDEN- A celebration of life service for Henry Earl Harrelson, 83, will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Drive Church of God. The Rev. Brody Pope will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeshore Drive Church of God.

     Mr. Harrelson passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Born in Western Prong, N.C., he was a son of the late Henry Elmore Harrelson and Odessa Bass Hicks. Mr. Harrelson enjoyed his work as an insurance agent, traveling, especially to the beach, dancing in his shag club, and laughing. He was a handy man and enjoyed working on projects.

    Surviving are his wife, Jewell Harrelson; children, Jewell “Renee” Sluder (Larry), Rodney Harrelson (Beth), Danièle Greenawalt (Rodgers); a sister, Judy Stewart (Kenneth); 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Edna Faye Gurganus Bill Harrelson, Robert “Bob” Harrelson, and Johnny Harrelson.
