Obituary of Margaret Frances Watkins

Margaret Frances Watkins, 86, of Cassatt, passed away on Monday, April 10th, 2023. Born in Catawba, SC, she was the daughter of William and Martha Elis Howard. She loved her husband and caregiver Mike Watkins and her furbaby Spade. She loved her family, and she enjoyed having gatherings at her home. She could always be seen laughing and smiling and enjoying the blessings that God had given her.

In addition to her husband, Frances is survived by her daughter Margie Wallace of Kershaw; a sister-in-law, Lynne Douglas (Rocky) of Lexington; granddaughters, Marie Parker of Kershaw, Crystal Hedgecock (Brian) of Lexington, Angelia Melton Myers (Darrin) of Lancaster, Nichole Dease, Michael Andrews; great grands, Jason Melton, Zach Wright, Austin Taylor, Chelsea Carnes; great – great grands, Bayleigh Melton, William Melton, Henry Broom, and K.J. Carnes; and a best friend, Novie Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Diane K Parker and Doris Andrews; granddaughter, Tammy Whitley Steel, and a great grandsons, Dylan Boone and Remy Carnes.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13^th from 5 PM – 7 PM at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14^th at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank MUSC Hospice and nurses, Sarah Altman and Martha Horton.
