Obituary of Bobby Eugene Evans

Bobby Eugene Evans, 62, of Kershaw, was called into eternal rest on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Born in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Alberta Brown Evans and the husband of 39 years to Cassandra “Sandy” Dickens Evans. He was the fourth child of seven children. Raised in a Christian home, Bobby received his early religious training at St. John’s Baptist Church in Camden. He graduated in 1978 from Baron Dekalb High School. After graduation, Bobby was employed by Spring Industries before joining the US Army, where he served for three years. After his time in the military, he enjoyed a rewarding career as a CNC Machinist for many years. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors, especially tending to his garden and flowers. He was also an avid fisherman. Above all, Bobby was a simple man that cherished his family and the time he spent with them.

In addition to his loving wife, Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Cassie Evans McDonald (Dontra) of Columbia; his siblings, Michael Evans (Julia) of Columbia, Sharon Falana of Charlotte, NC, Nancy Janifer of Virginia, and Mary King (Leonard) of Kershaw; five grandchildren; five special aunts, Maranda Fletcher, Ethel Fletcher, Ollie Mae Doby, Rosa Jones, and Jeffa Mae Brown; his sisters-in-law, Theresa Evans of Camden and Mildred Fletcher of Kershaw; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Evans.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
