Obituary of Eugene Brown

OKLAHOMA- A celebration of life service for Mr. Eugene Brown, 65, will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Joshua Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. E. L. Sanders will officiate.

    Mr. Brown passed away on March 25, 2023. Born in Camden, S.C., he was a son of the late Willie and Naomi Spain Brown. Eugene loved working with his hands in the yard building bird houses, basketball goals, and outdoor art. He had a passion for collecting limited edition collectibles in every field, especially anything sports related. He had a passion for sports and was very knowledgeable of everything from golf, basketball, horse racing, as well as NASCAR. He loved to buy gifts or items that reminded him of a certain person.

    Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Owana Brown; children, Tenico Hamilton and Cameron Brown; grandchildren, Gavvie Hamilton and Ember Hamilton; siblings, Jimmy Brown (Shirley), Clarence “Clyde” Brown (Deborah), Ruth Brown, and Thelma Hope (Jasper); and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Willie Brown, Jr., Johnny Brown, Steve Ellis, Dottie Mosley, Amelia Brown, Lula “Teat” Brown, Cora Brown, and Nora Burns.
