Obituary of Rembert Olin Hutto

Rembert Olin Hutto, 84, of Columbia, SC passed away on Monday April 3, 2023. Born in Swansea, SC, he was the son the late Alfred Hutto and Ila Ursie Chavis Hutto, and the husband of Elizabeth White Hutto. Rembert served his country in the United States Airforce. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church in Elgin for 28 years. He ran his own business, Hutto Home Improvements, and he worked for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health in maintenance, and Walmart. He volunteered at Harvest Hope food bank, and the Richland County Sheriffs Department, helping with wellness checks for the elderly in his community. He loved his family and spending time with his grands.

In addition to his wife, Rembert is survived by his daughters; Robin Bolton (Robert), Susan Mangum (Delance), Heather Carnley (Wes); Grandchildren; Bobby and Cody Bolton, Kelly, Nick, Cameron, Rivers Matthews, Lena Carnley; and numerous great-grandchildren.  

He was predeceased by a son, Anthony Olin Hutto, and grandsons, Little Tony and Daniel Hutto.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7th at 3:00 PM at Highway Pentecostal Church in Elgin, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church.
