Obituary of Tommy Harrison, Sr.

Thomas Michael “Tommy” Harrison, Sr., 68, of Kershaw, SC and formerly of Camden, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Harry T. and Mildred Lee Harrison, and the husband of Tammy Ann Harrison. Tommy attended Bethany Baptist Church in Westville, SC. He was a very smart man who worked hard his whole life. He began his working life putting up rides for carnivals before becoming a truck driver. After driving for 15 years, Tommy opened his own business as a diesel mechanic. He could fix anything, and he loved nothing more than being able to help take care of his family and friends. Tommy was a loving husband, father, “Pops”, and brother who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, Tommy is survived by his son, T.J. Harrison of Kershaw; daughter, Kristi Nickerson (Zach) of Camden; his sisters, Barbara Penfield (Alan) of Vero Beach, FL and Joan Wilburn (Mitch) of Maryville, TN; as well as four grandsons.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Bethany Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Craigen Blankenship Chaplain Gerald Moss. The family will receive friends in the church Family Life Center following the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you the staff at Providence Care Hospice, especially Tommy’s nurse, Grace, and his aid, Micka. They would also like to thank Senior Helpers, and Tommy’s sitter, John.
