Obituary of Samuel Cerezo-Cabrera
CAMDEN – Funeral service for Samuel Cerezo-Cabrera, 77, will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Cerezo, husband of the late Glenda V. Gainey Cerezo, passed away at his son’s home in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Emilio and Gregoria Cabrera. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Captain. He also retired from Camden Military Academy, where he taught Spanish and was an Economic Professor with the University of South Carolina. He was a member of the South Carolina Republican Party and Paso Fino Federation. He enjoyed horses and politics.
Surviving are his son, Samuel R. Cerezo; sisters, Virginia Roman-Cerezo and Millin Del Valle-Cerezo; and grandchildren, Seray N. Cerezo and Samuel A.G. Cerezo.
