Obituary of Ophelia Tripp Gogo

Ophelia Gogo, 90, of Bethune, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Born in Loris, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Tripp and Ada Milligan and the wife of the late Donald Dean Gogo. Ophelia was a member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church in Cassatt, SC. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and taking trips to the beach. Above all, Ophelia loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Annie Knox, Donna Hutchinson (Kenny), Pam Youman (Ronnie), and Allison Minniear; grandchildren, Michael Emmer, Jeff Emmer, Tracy Todd, Christopher Todd, Arthur Long, Joanna Long, Steven McCoy (Lenchie), Jessica Fanning (Jesse), Camille Thoma (Jonathan), Gabriel Gonzalez, Faith Minniear, Nicole Minniear, Amanda Donovan, Elizabeth Gogo, and Annie Lashley; as well as several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ophelia was preceded in death by her children, Lavon Todd and Larry Gogo; and siblings, Lois Seaman, Shirley Tripp, William Tripp, Jr., Ronald Tripp, and John Wayne Hodge.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Sandy Grove United Methodist Church, Cassatt. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
