Obituary of Maude Allen Boyte

CAMDEN- A funeral service for Maude Allen Boyte, 92, will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Great Falls. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

    Mrs. Boyte, husband of the late  William Oscar Boyte, Jr., passed away on February 12, 2023. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Harvey and Lessie Martin Allen. Mrs. Boyte was a member of First Baptist Church, Camden, where she sang in the Silvertones Choir. She was also a member of the SOS Shag Club. She enjoyed playing games on her iPad, doing yardwork, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

    Surviving are her daughter, Linda Kupcs (Arnie) of Lexington; grandchildren, Terri Lacy (Russell Matthews), Melissa Kerr (Jason), Ricky Hinson (Ashley), William Boyte (Maggie), Delacie McNeice (David); and great-grandchildren, Megan Brazell, Jayden Hinson, Zoie Hinson, Caci Lacy, Parker McNeice, Emily McNeice. She was predeceased by a son, William O. “Billy” Boyte, III; and siblings, Norva Allen, John Allen, Syble Platt, Jack Allen, Mable Knight and Launa Cooley.
