Obituary of Lesley Lemoine
LUGOFF- Lesley Jean Lemoine was born September 13, 1975 in South Carolina. She was found deceased in Lugoff, South Carolina on December 31, 2022 after being missing for 9 months.
Lesley moved to Kershaw County in 1989, where she stayed until her unfortunate passing. In her life, she was a funny, charismatic, free spirit that loved Jesus and having a good time. Listening to music was one of her most favorite things, even from a young age. At the age of 4, while walking through downtown with her family in Charleston, she snuck off into a karaoke bar and was found singing “I love Rock and Roll” on the bar top with a microphone. She attended Lugoff-Elgin High School and graduated from Midlands Tech with medical billing and coding certification. She was a friendly soul, who would give you the shoes off her feet if you needed them, but she had her demons, too. After 30 years of addiction, she is finally free from her disease and home with Jesus.
Lesley is survived by her mother, Glenda Gates; stepfather, William Gates; brother, Timothy Lemoine; daughters, Hannah Gates, Haven Mattox; nephew, Clyde Lemoine; grandchildren, Charlie Gates; Jonah Gates; and a cousin, Jason Taska. She is predeceased by her father, Timothy Lemoine Sr.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00pm.
