Obituary of Richard Wallace Peake

SUMMERTON – Funeral service for Richard Wallace Peake, 69, formerly of Blythewood, will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with burial to follow in Centerville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue in Manning, S.C. or N.R.A.

    Mr. Peake passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022.  Born in Winnsboro, S.C., he was the son of the late Sidney Harvey and Jeanette Easler Peake.  He retired from Pure Power Technology in Blythewood. 

    Mr. Peake was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a great man of faith.  He was a member of the Melchizedek Priesthood and a former Sunday School Teacher.  His testimony was that he ministered as Christ did.  He loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. 

    Mr. Peake was a former volunteer fireman with Blythewood Fire Department, a member of the Blythewood Historical Society, former Boy Scout Troop Leader, and former crew chief of Hobgood Racing.  He was a life member of N.R.A. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening and was an avid Indian Artifacts Collector.

    Surviving are his life-partner, Lynn G. Smith and her son, Rickson Powers (Rene); daughter, Crystal Peake Price (Patrick); son, Shawn Peake (Jenny); brother, John Keith Peake; grandchildren, Easton Catoe, London Catoe, Braelyn Peake, Huntley Peake, Sage Price,  Mallorie Shumate and Dalton Price; and numerous cousins.
