Obituary of Henry Butler Williams, III

Henry Butler Williams, III, of Lugoff, SC and formerly of Tupelo, MS, and Baldwinsville, NY, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, the same day that he arrived in this world, after a hard-fought 3-year battle with multiple illnesses. Born in Mt. Holly, NJ, he was the son of the late Henry Butler Williams, II and Jean Louise Stein Williams. Henry was a machinist by trade, eventually working his way up to becoming an engineering technician. He had a passion for tinkering with things, so much so that his family dubbed him the “Director of Unnecessary Projects”. He had many hobbies, but chief among them was his love for motorcycles, both riding bikes and building them. Henry enjoyed traveling and loved animals, especially his dogs. Henry was also a terrible tease with a good sense of humor and a penchant for pulling pranks. He was joyful, bright, patient, and smart, and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

He is survived by his children, James Luther Williams (Lisa) and Hagan Blythe Williams (Wyatt); grandchildren, Valerie Williams and Owen Williams; as well as his siblings, Susan Williams, Nancy McNulty (Patrick), Robert Williams (Cecelia), and Gary Williams (Carolyn).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
