Obituary of Deacon John A. Perkins, Jr.

Cassatt – Graveside service for Deacon John Alexander Perkins, Jr., 78, will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery, Cassatt.  Public viewing will be held on Friday from 3-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

    Deacon Perkins passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022.  Born in Cassatt, S.C., he was the son of the late Rev. John L. Perkins and Pearl Kelly Perkins. He retired from DuPont and was a truck driver for KerWest Logging. John enjoyed walking, gardening, and watching Westerns on the t.v.

    Surviving is his wife, Barbara Carter Perkins; children, Jamard Perkins and Dashaun Perkins; grandchildren, Talia Perkins and A’Julius Perkins; siblings, James A. Perkins, Helen A. Perkins-Harris, and Carolyn P. Atkinson. He was predeceased by his son, Brian Marshall.
