Obituary of Hattie Mae Thomas
Hattie Mae Pouge Thomas, 76, of Bishopville, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late James Clemons and Rosa Lee Pouge, and the wife of the late Kenneth Thomas. Hattie was a faithful member of Living Word Ministry in Bishopville. She loved to fish, cook, and spend time with her family. Hattie was a cancer survivor and was always willing to go above and beyond to help someone.
Left to cherish her fond memory are her children, Gregory Pouge (Tammie) and Stephanie Nelson (Darryl); her siblings, Shirley Joe, Joe Pouge (Pamela), Betty Boykin (Cleveland), and Jimmy Davis, Jr. (Anita); grandchildren, Laquanda Thomas, Anogory Slater, Dedrick Slater, Nyeshia Slater, Gregory Stuckey, Ryan Stuckey, Tatiana Stuckey, Promize Nelson, Aunjelaca Miller, Tyrica Ginyard, Shakia Pouge, Anthony Pouge, Arty Allen, Xavier Pouge, Kanisha Pouge, Adriana Pouge, Lamesha Pouge, Anthony Pouge, Tysheka Chestnut, Chaddrick Chestnut, and Kiah Manley; her aunt, Irene Green; as well as 26 great-grandchildren and a host of loving family members and close friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Hattie was preceded in death by her children, Jennifer Pouge, Herman Pouge, Jr., and Terry Anthony Pouge; and her siblings, Rebecca McLeod, Herbert Lee Pouge, Sr., James Pouge, Jr., Rosa Glenn, and Rosa Lee Rivers.
A Homegoing Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, Spring Hill. A public viewing will be held from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Burial will follow the service in Mt. Calvary Holiness Church Cemetery.
