Obituary of Edward "Eddie" Gladden, Sr.

ELGIN- A time of gathering to celebrate the life of Edward Douglas Gladden, Sr., 81, will be held Saturday, November 12 from 2-4 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Diabetes, Heart or Cancer Association.

    Mr. Gladden passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022.  Born in Winnsboro, S.C., he was the son of the late Horace Gladden Sr. and Lily Mae McMurray Gladden.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family.

    Surviving are his wife of 40 years Judy Marlene Reynolds Gladden; children, Edward Douglas Gladden Jr. (Victoria) of Jacksonville, Fla., Ginger Gladden Jones (Jerry) of Lancaster, S.C. and Harriet Barker (George) of Elgin; siblings, Rebecca Cauthen of Lancaster, Pete Roebuck of Pelion; grandchildren, Haleigh Rodrigues (Kevin), Megan Gladden, Hunter Gladden, Katie Jones, Haven Jones, Melinda Barker, Kayla Buff (Thomas); and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Horace Gladden, Jr., Sarah Pounds, Minnie Gladden, Leila Gladden, and James Gladden.
