Obituary of Herbert Williams, Jr.

Herbert Williams, Jr., 63, of Lugoff, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 3, 2022. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Herbert Williams, Sr. and Beulah Martin Williams. Herbert attended Kershaw County Public Schools and was a 1976 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School. He was a member of Good Aim Baptist Church in Elgin. He worked for many years in Maintenance with the City of Columbia. Herbert loved to hunt, socialize with his friends, and was always looking for ways to make people laugh. Above all, he loved spending precious time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Herbert is survived by his siblings, Dynell Green (Larry), Lawrence Williams (Debra), and Carolyn Williams; his step-father, Nathaniel Kelly; aunts, Joyce Martin of Lugoff, Sarah Martin of Columbia, Agnes Martin of Hartford, CT; uncle, Leon Martin (Eric) of Lugoff; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and Esau Williams.

A viewing will be held from 11-1pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. A Celebration of Life Homegoing Service will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Cedar Cemetery.
