Obituary of Sarah Frances Nesbitt Sturgeon

ELGIN- Funeral services for Sarah Frances Nesbitt Sturgeon, 75, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Minister Latwanna Flake will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Sturgeon, wife of the late Richard David Sturgeon passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Born in Lynchburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Richard and Bessie Mae Nesbitt. Mrs. Sturgeon enjoyed watching TV and traveling to the mountains.

    Surviving are her daughters, Connie Sturgeon of Elgin, Teresa Balleza (Primitivo) of Pelion; grandchildren, Brendan Sturgeon, Gabi Balleza; and siblings, Ruby Ross of Elgin and Lil Chavis (James) of Eastover. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph A. Turner; and siblings, Allen Nesbitt, Buddy Nesbitt, and Mary Varnadore.
