Obituary of Bill Randolph Hames

Bill Randolph Hames, 74, of Camden, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022. Born in Simpsonville, SC, he was the son of the late Bill and Lula Mae Presley Hames, and the husband of Elizabeth “Gail” Stokes Hames. Bill proudly served his country in the US Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. He then pursued a career with the SC Highway Department, and eventually retired after another 20 years. Bill loved to fish and enjoyed shooting and collecting guns. He also loved Christmas and Little Debbie Cakes. Above all, Bill loved spending time with his family, either grilling out or sitting on the porch. 

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his aunt, Vonnie; his three fur-babies, Woodrow Ray, Baby Girl, and BoBo; nieces and nephews, Angie McLeod, Doug McLeod Jr, Kayden, Kane and Abel, and Tracy. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, James Luther Presley.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Mrs. Hames would like to thank her sister for all the love and support over the last 10 years.
