Obituary of Charles Edward Wells

ELGIN – Funeral service for Charles Edward Wells, 83, will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

    Mr. Wells passed away at MUSC Kershaw Health on Monday, August 22, 2022.  Born in Durham, N.C., he was the son of the late Charles W. and Helen Davis Wells.  He served in the United States Army and retired as a automotive mechanic.  He enjoyed fishing, being a handyman and antique shopping.  He also loved to travel to the beach and mountains

    He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Ruby Jean Hall Wells; daughter, Susan Jean Comisky (Richard) of Columbia; step-children, Jamie Bailey (Debbie), Ricky Bailey (Natalie) and Rhonda Peake; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.   He was predeceased by daughter, Angela Wells Knigge; and siblings, Howard Wells, Grace Ann Medlin, Carl Wells, Vernon Wells, Virginia Parrish and Lonnie Mae Oakley.
