LUGOFF – A graveside service for Mildred Susan Roepke, 73, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Rhodes will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Mrs. Roepke, wife of the late SSGT Arthur C. Roepke USMC (Ret’d), passed away Friday, March 21, 2014. Born in McDowell County, W.V., she was a daughter of the late Weldon and Dolleta Hendrick Rhodes. Surviving are her sons, Neil Roepke (Gretchen), Kenneth Roepke (Venice); granddaughters, Katie and Nikki; 3 step-grandchildren; and 1 step-great grandchild; brothers, Eugene Rhodes, Rev. Jerry Rhodes; and a sister, Jane Martin. She was predeceased by her husband, and brothers, Rev. Nelson Rhodes and Rev. Wendell Wayne Rhodes.
