Obituary of Florence Waters "Ms. Marie" McCoy

ELGIN- A funeral service for Florence Waters McCoy, 62, will be held Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mrs. McCoy passed away on June 24, 2022. Born in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late Luther Alonzo Waters and Ruth Waters Fish (Paul). Mrs. McCoy worked as the assistant director of Blaney Daycare after service 18 years. She enjoyed yard selling as well as flea markets, the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

    Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Lindbergh McCoy; daughters, Diana McCoy-Brown of Lugoff, Theresa McCoy-Garner (Andre) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Kelvin Branham (Lauren), Lakin Salmond (Lorenzo), Chase Brown, Shailin Garner; great-grandchildren, Carlen Branham, Kason McGee; brother, William “Billy” Waters (Brenda) of LA; and a special niece, Alisa Calhoun (James). She was predeceased by siblings, Linda Atchley and Ronald Jackson.
