Obituary of Jeffery Hayes

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Jeffery Fritzgerald Hayes, 58, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. 

    Mr. Hayes passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Christopher and Rena Stradford Hayes.  He was an outdoorsman who had an outgoing personality and loved people.

    Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Sharon Elm Hayes; son, Davante Hayes; daughter, De’Asia Hayes; step-son, Dexter Elm (Ashley); brothers, Henry Hayes and John Hayes (Patricia); sisters, Barbara Jean Brown (Theodore) and Jean Hayes; grandson, Tyrese Elm (Jordan); brothers-in-law, Timothy Elm (Paula), Ronald Elm (Chrissy) and Michael Elm; A host of special nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, childhood brother Melvin Williams and other neighborhood friends and relatives.

            He was predeceased by daughters, Tahashia Hayes and Domika Hayes; and sisters, Patricia Hayes and Beverly Hayes Brown.
