ELGIN – Service for Nancy Carol Davis, 80 will be private. Mrs. Davis, wife of the late James F. Davis, Jr., died Thursday, March 13, 2014. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Julian Gray and Mary Ellisor Smith. Surviving are her children, James F. Davis III (Betty), Michael Davis (Louise), Rosemary Newton, Carol Player, Joe Davis, Georgia Nichols, Julia Cox, and Dickie Davis (Kerri); brothers, Joe Smith, Bill Smith, Jim Smith and Bob Smith; sisters, Rita Smith and Peggy Dawkins; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
