Obituary of Nellie Elsie Matuse

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Nellie Elsie Matuse, 79, will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bishopville.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday at the funeral home. 

    Ms. Matuse passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022.  Born in Mt. Clio, SC, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Cecil Privette and Eula Lee Boykin Privette. Nellie was a NASCAR and Gamecocks fan. She loved to visit with family and friends, work with flowers, and travel.

    Surviving are her sons, James Matuse and David Matuse (Cindy); grandchildren, Chris Matuse, Josh Matuse, Leann Matuse, Kaitlynn Matuse, and David James Matuse; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Privette (Shirley), Albert Privette, and John Privette; special niece, Louise Anderson; and special nephew, John Bowers. She was predeceased by her children, Henry Lee Matuse, Jr., Sandy Matuse, and Patsy Ann Matuse; siblings, Beatrice Privette, Sara Privette, C.M. Privette, Elvin Privette, Andrews Privette, and Rhodie Bowers (Perry).
