Obituary of Bessie Mae Reynolds

CASSATT – Funeral service for Bessie Mae Reynolds, 62, will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery, Cassatt.  The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.

   Mrs. Reynolds passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022.  Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Portee, Sr. and Helen Hampton Portee. She loved her family, children, and her church. She was an usher, choir member, and Sunday school teacher.

  Surviving is her husband, Daniel C. Reynolds, Sr., who lovingly referred to her as “Honey”; children, Daniel Reynolds, Jr. (Jessica), Danielle Reynolds, and LaShonda Oliver; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Dorothy Taylor (Willie), Marie McCormick, Clarence Hampton (Hattie), Martha Cassall, Greg Portee, and Gerena Brown (Tony); and sister-in-law, Sidney Portee. She was predeceased by her siblings, Thomas Portee, Jr., Stanley Portee, and Kathy Portee.
