CAMDEN – Funeral service for Vernell Douglas Cain, 80, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at First Assembly Church of God with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Bruce Marthers will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mrs. Cain, wife of the late Mack Thornwell Cain, died Monday, March 10, 2014. She retired from Kendal Mill Company. She was a member of the First Assembly of God. Surviving are her sons, James Catoe (Sandra) of Elgin and John W. Catoe of Camden; daughter, Patricia Parnell (Bobby) of Camden; sisters, Johnnie Mae Spears and Marie Altman; brothers, John Henry Douglas and Thurman Douglas; grandchildren, Pam Osment, Preston Catoe, Angela Branham, John M. Catoe, LeeAnn Estes, and Mary Allison McCaskill; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Bowers, Grace Catoe and Sarah Ella Morris; and brother, Bobby Douglas.
