Obituary of Wannah Mary Douglas

LUGOFF- A service to celebrate the life of Wannah Mary Douglas (nee Hughes), 90, will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Steve Reynolds will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Douglas passed away peacefully, March 28, 2022, surrounded by family.

Mrs. Douglas was the wife of the late MGySgt Windle Carlyle Douglas, USMC. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, fishing, and sewing. She loved going to the beach with her family. She volunteered for Relay for Life, Food Pantry, and Red Cross Disaster Relief. She loved her church and her church family.  Her family tree can be traced to the early settlement of South Carolina.

She was the daughter of Lawrence and Marian Hughes.  She leaves behind her most precious treasures, her family. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Kirincich (Joseph) of Lugoff, Pam Holland (Charles) of Stella, NC., Cindy Kirkland (Steve) of Lugoff, and daughter-in-law, Karen Douglas of Jacksonville, NC; sisters, Jo Kirkland and Laurence Thomas (Ray).  In addition are her grandchildren: Amy Kirincich, Eddie Holland, Jason (Beth) Kirincich, Ashley (Jer) Smith, Justin Holland, Caitlyn (CJ) Boulware, Hunter (Justin) Kirkland, and Ethan Kirkland. She was blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Jake and Alex Kirincich, McCartney, Sullivan, Mary-Carlisle, and Sawyer Smith, Eli Brown, Natalie and Madelyn Boulware.  She also leaves several beloved nieces, nephews and friends, including her best friend, Jackie Kirkland.

 She was predeceased by a son, Lyle Douglas and sisters, Dorothy Kirkland and Helen Cline.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church Food Pantry.
