Obituary of Henry L. Helmar

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Henry L. Helmar, 91, will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 10:00 am in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

             Mr. Helmar passed away March 13, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 02, 1930, to the late Henry and Bessie Barrett Helmar, in Danbury, CT. Mr. Helmar was a veteran of the Army National Guard where he served 31 years before retiring. He was also a mechanical engineer. Mr. Helmar was a member of the German Social club. He enjoyed hunting and loved Dachsunds.

            Surviving are his daughters, Denise Schleper, Diane Blackfoot, Doreen Fuchs, and Debbie Rodriguez; son, Raymond Helmar; sister, Jackie Jowdey; and; and 12 grandchildren.

            He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Joan Helmar; parents, Henry and Bessie Barrett Helmar; son, John Helmar; and sister, Janet Conciatore.
