Obituary of Del Sills

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Cecil Delwyn “Del” Sills, 78, will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Hermitage Baptist Church.

    Mr. Sills passed away at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital on Saturday, February 12, 2022.  Born in Bennettsville, he was the son of the late Cecil Alexander and Netta Pauline Covington Sills. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Major in the Civil Air Patrol.  He was past president and secretary of the Camden Optimist Club and former Young Eagle Chairman for Experimental aircraft Association.

     Surviving are his wife, Sandra Kay Sills; daughters, Lisa Feix of Davie, Fla. and Tabitha Riggs of Dania Beach, Fla.; step-sons, Alex Rath (Jennifer), Jim Walton, Jr. (Tracy) and Scott Walton; brother, Don Sills; and7 grandchildren.
